Nice, spacious ambiance, but servers are flakingĀ and a bit odd.
Relatively busy on a Saturday evening around 8 pm, but definitely tables available. Italian bread on the table to start.
Neapolitan pizzas are just barely fine. Definitely a good portion, but the basics are off. Dough is just ok, tomato sauce is good, but a bit too tart. Mozzarella isn’t too fresh and somewhat rubbery. But the biggest offender is the sopressata. WOW is that BAD sopressata. It had such a briny, overly salted, unbelievably strong flavor that the entire pizza was ruined. It came sliced into strips and it permeated the entire pizza in such a negative way. You couldn’t even pick it off and eat the dough. Please please don’t get sopressata here.
We triedĀ a pizza with the butternut squash cream (no tomato sauce) and either the cream was completely flavorless or they didn’t put it on. We couldn’t taste butternut squash at all. The only flavor was the terrible, unpalatable sopressata described above. It’s also odd that about 25% of their dishes have butternut squash involved in some way (pastas, pizzas, entrees) – why?
The pasta entrees were better, but please note that out of the 10 or so pastas they offer, only the ravioli and the gnocchi are homemade. The others are dried/boxed pasta. There are great Italian and pizza places in the city and there is just no reason to go to this mediocre one.
