Rosa’s Thai has a couple of locations and each one is similar. They are set up as small, Thai cafes that serve modern and healthy Thai food. The cafes are nice, but pretty lean and modestly decorated, though the quality of food is really solid. Portions are unusually small, though.
Chili & Basil Stir Fry – what I liked about this was that it wasn’t made too sweet, which tends to be the case not only with Thai food in the west generally, but particularly with the basil stir fry dish. The flavor was pretty good and it came with a variety of veggies, but ain inexplicably small portion. Wild rice was served alongside it and I really enjoyed the change of pace from just steamed white rice. It was a mix of various grains of rice, including black and brown.
Rosa’s Butternut Squash Red Curry – this is one of their signature dishes. It’s a butternut squash and sweet basil curry. Curry dishes can tend towards being heavy and oily, but this one was not. It was light and had amazing flavor. Again served with wild rice.
Thai Iced Tea is particularly good here and not too sweet.
Good food, fresh ingredients, Thai food done pretty well, but very small portions and pricey for what you get.
