One of the largest chain cafes in London, Patisserie Valerie serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch foods in addition to hot and cold beverages, and a variety of cakes, tarts, and pastries. Every single Patisserie Valerie has the exact same offerings. Their cakes are not conventional, American-style cakes, but rather mostly cream-based old-school patisserie style cakes, which are not usually up our alley. We’ve tried nearly every cake they offer and they are all fine, but nothing special. Our favorites, though, are the chocolate mousse cake and the mixed berry mousse cake, so we’d recommend those if you happen to give this place a go.
Every location of Patisserie Valerie tends to be busy most of the time and it’s a convenient place to just tuck into for a quick rest and snack. It’s reliable and the waitstaff is usually friendly and competent. The establishments tend to run quite well and efficiently, so it’s a pretty safe option, but certainly not anything to actively seek out.
