LeCoq is a small, charming rotisserie serving a two or three course fixed menu that changes weekly. The entire concept is based on the main dish of rotisserie chicken. Each week, there are 3 appetizers to choose from (seafood, salads, vegetables), 1 main dish, consisting of the rotisserie chicken (generally 1/4 chicken with breast and leg, though you can request breast only) prepared with different sauces, spices, and pairings each week, and 3 desserts (generally sorbet, crumble, cake). You can opt for 2 courses or 3 courses, and on the whole there aren’t a lot of choices to be made. If you do have a customization request, however, they will absolutely work with you, particularly ahead of time. The service was fantastic and everyone was quite accommodating and friendly.
The place is small, so you should definitely book in advance, but the food is of the highest quality and they have a nice open kitchen where you can see the rotisserie and the chefs at work. I will say that while the chicken was so moist and succulent, it actually didn’t have much flavor, which was surprising and disappointing given that chicken is meant to be the star of the show. But I do like the concept, the service, and I can stand behind the quality of the ingredients and the food, so I’d still say it’s worth a try.
