Saturday afternoons and evenings are pretty busy, but line moves quickly because most people are doing takeout and not sit down.
Staff isn’t too friendly, more straight down to business, and definitely not patient regarding questions.
Mille Crepe Cake – tried the classic. Basically 20 very thin layers of crepes alternating between layers of French pastry cream. It’s a good dessert, not too sweet (which is a plus), and crepes add nice texture. But definitely nothing worth coming all the way here for if you’re not nearby. Nice to try once, but not something you really come back to over and over again.
It’s very similar to a cheesecake and it’s definitely not better than a great cheesecake just because the cake is not great – just good.
I will say one thing without naming a specific place – many restaurants around town serve this same mille crepe cake (they buy it from Lady M) and the same size of it, but they upcharge it anywhere from an extra $2.50 to $5. There is a place that serves it for $12, but this cake sells for $7.50 at the shop. Just something to consider.
