White Chocolate Raspberry Cake

Ok so what I love about this place is that it is a charity, so any profit that they make goes back into supporting local community projects. All of their products are ethically sourced and also locally sourced whenever possible. So, the place has a great spirit, good people and I’d encourage everyone to support it.

That being said, nothing we’ve tried here has been spectacular. We’ve had the coffee beverages and they have tasted quite weak and bitter. We’ve had many of the cakes: the oreo cake, the blueberry cake, the white chocolate raspberry cake and they are all quite dry and rather tasteless.

They don’t make their cakes in-house, but they work with a local bakery to get them delivered consistently, so they are always fresh. Portions of the cakes are quite small. We’ve heard that the red velvet cake is their best selling (isn’t it always?) and actually haven’t tried that, so who knows, maybe that’s the way to go. They also have some vegan and gluten-free offerings.

There’s a lot of seating and it’s a pretty chill, comfortable set-up, but seats do fill up fast particularly on weekends because it’s located in the heart of Brick Lane and gets quite a lot of visitors. You order at the counter and they bring the drinks to you at your seat.
