Wow I think this place is amazing. I really have no complaints and have only great things to say. I will say I was hesitant to pay $7 for each of the Nitro Flight and the Deconstructed Latte. I kept trying to ask the barista which one he recommended, so that we could just get one. But he convinced me that both were worth a shot, so a bit reluctantly we got both. Boy was it worth it! They are so different, such good quality, and SO delicious it’s crazy.
Nitro Flight – this is cold. You get two cold brew coffees, one black and one white. The black is just cold brew with nitrogen, giving it a nice foamy head. No sugar, no milk. The white is the same, but with a bit of cream. It’s served with maple sugar on the side and paired with a “small bite,” which is something like a wafer. When the barista presented it to us, she said that the nitrogen would make even the black one taste like it had cream in it and boy was she right. I am not a fan of black coffee. I’m the type who takes their cream with a splash of coffee and not the other way around. But this black nitro coffee was unbelievably delicious and the white one equally so. Honestly, I’m not even sure I preferred the white one with cream to the black. It was so smooth, so flavorful, but unlike any coffee I’ve tasted. God it’s so good.
Deconstructed Latte – this is hot. So this one comes in three parts. 1 shot of espresso, 1 shot of steamed milk, and then a latte (which of course is a shot of espresso and steamed milk combined), so you get each part separately and together. The shot of espresso is one of the smoothest, least bitter shots you will try. Such good quality. The shot of steamed milk is pasteurized at a lower temperature and for a longer period of time, so it tastes similar to raw milk. I love the taste of raw milk and I loved the taste of this. Best milk ever. How can milk be this good? And lastly the latte is just fantastic. Smooth, creamy, a little bit of froth, great milk to espresso ratio (meaning it’s not a giant cup of milk with a tiny drop of espresso). Also served with a wafer.
It was great that we both had different favorites (mine being the nitro flight) because we tried everything, but then had more of what we preferred.
The place is small and seating is limited (though we found a spot right away on a weekend afternoon), but you’re just going to have to wait for a table to open up and then you’ll have to order both the Nitro Flight and Deconstructed Latte (these are only served dine-in). I have no doubt they have amazing coffee beverages no matter what you get (including all the classics), but you’ve just got to get these at least once. They also have some pastries like croissants, brownies, scones, etc.
So rarely does a place that is this hyped and this popular live up to expectations. This place nails it.
