Nice ambiance and food is good, but nothing special and outrageously overpriced.
Waitress wasn’t the nicest or very patient, either.
Organic Quinoa, Grilled Endive and Wheat Berry Salad – avocado, red and green bell peppers, onions, roasted eggplant, and a serrano chili & tomato seed vinaigrette. This was a really good no lettuce “salad.” Tons of veggies, good sized portion, great taste. The vinaigrette was thick and flavorful. Would get it again.
Goat Cheese and Sundried Tomato Ravioli in a Plum Tomato Sauce – spinach, baby artichokes, roasted garlic cloves, fire roasted bell peppers, and pecorino romano. First, we wanted to sub broccoli for artichokes and the response was “we don’t have broccoli.” What? Of course you do. We had her check and sure enough they had broccoli and were able to substitute. We also got no peppers.
Now, the taste of the ravioli was fine. Just fine. Nothing wrong with it. Nothing right with it. But here’s the kicker. It was $25 for a lunch portion and NOT even homemade. They use a packaged pre-made ravioli from elsewhere and charge you $25 for a vegetarian cheese ravioli. What?! Some of the finest Italian restaurants in Manhattan serve fresh, homemade ravioli, deliciously flavored for way less than that. Even non-vegetarian raviolis at those places are way less expensive. Are you kidding? That is kind of outrageous. There may be one or two top of the top Italian restaurants that have a ravioli for $25 or more, but very few and you can bet those would be homemade and delicious.
Would not come back here ever again unless someone else insisted (or paid!).
