Bruffin

Bruffin (2)
American Muffin

Almost missed this place – it’s a bit hard to see from the outside, so be careful.

I loved the concept when I heard about it and had to try it. Savory muffins that are full meals – great idea. But a lot of times, clever ideas don’t deliver. Usually it’s a fun experience, but it doesn’t quite work out and they don’t nail it, so it’s just a one time visit. This is not like that. They really got this down.

When we went on Sunday mid-afternoon, a bunch of muffins were already sold out. But they still had a selection of about 6-7. We were between the Italian and the American and decided on the American when the worker told us that was her favorite.

American – white meat chicken with blue cheese and buffalo sauce in a brioche muffin. The outside top portion is crispy. The inside is soft and moist. The chicken is shredded and chopped very finely. Not too much chicken in there, but understandable. You can taste the blue cheese, but it’s very very mild. And the buffalo sauce is also mild, so for those who don’t like spicy, don’t worry. It’s really delicious as is the brioche muffin itself. I would get it again and try other flavors.

Bruffin (1)Blueberry Muffin – obviously a sweet muffin. This was packed with blueberries, but not as sweet as most muffins because of the brioche bread. I really liked that. It’s better quality than most blueberry muffins out there, especially if you don’t want a large amount of sugar. It’s still a dessert muffin, though.

The place itself is really just a window with a worker behind it and the seating is down a long hall inside the building. They also serve coffee beverages, but I didn’t try those.

Muffins range from $5-$6.
