Chocolate cake with vanilla frosting:
First, there is a RIDICULOUS amount of frosting on this cake. It’s crazy and way too much. I’m a person who doesn’t eat 98% of the frosting 100% of the time, but it was like they dumped a 1 inch pile of frosting on top of a cake slice. And it really wasn’t even good frosting. It was hard as a brick.
Anyway, the chocolate cake itself minus the frosting is actually great. Great flavor, moist, and portion was a good size for one. It’s not a dense cake, but it’s a really good deep flavored chocolate birthday cake. If they sold those pieces without the frosting, but just more cake part, I would get them much more.
Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting:
This is definitely better than the one above. The cake is still great (it’s the same), but this frosting is better. I still don’t like frosting, but it was actually normal, fresh tasting, and not congealed into a solid crust like the vanilla was. The frosting is still way too sweet and would give anyone a sugar comma (if you want to eat frosting I don’t really get why you don’t just eat a bunch of sugar candy), but seemed like those who like frosting would actually enjoy it. And the cake part of the cake is just really great – it’s a devil’s food cake and it’s moist and flavorful.
Banana Cake:
We got this because we were told that it is the best thing in the entire store. I mean we don’t like banana much, but it was so overwhelmingly recommended by 3 of the staff members, that we got it. It’s not too sweet, has a very strong banana flavor (they use banana puree), and is moist and somewhat dense, but somewhat light. The quality of the cake is good, but doesn’t really work too well if you’re not a fan of banana. It comes with cream cheese frosting, which is better than the vanilla above, but WOW way too much of it.
Carrot Cake:
Would be back to try something else or to get the chocolate cake again and take off all the frosting.
