I really wish this place were better and it’s actually not that great, but I can’t knock it too much since it’s the only American food store around.
First, the shop is tiny, is not run by an American, and is unbelievably expensive. I mean really more than you’d think. Second, I really wish there were more things that were individual servings or small packages. Everything here is large boxes and full packages, which not only makes it more expensive, but also makes it impractical to buy. I think more people would pay premium to buy a few treats than full-sized packs.
But anyway, they do have a selection of American staples that you can’t get anywhere else here. Some noteworthy ones include Kraft Mac & Cheese, Chips Ahoy, Teddy Grahams, Goldfish, candy and chocolate bars (including Twizzlers!), cereals, and drinks like A&W root beer and cream soda. What I really wish they had is more American gum – I only saw some Big Red. It’s a fun visit and I thought I’d buy a few goodies, but I’m not sure the price and bulk makes it worth buying much.
